Our Social Purpose

Caring for our internal teams, those within the communities where we live, work and play, and our environment, has always been a part of the collective DNA throughout our family of companies. We use the #FirstServeOthers hashtag as a way to share our stories and inspire others to engage Social Purpose activities. Click here to access the FirstService Social Purpose website which provides additional information, newsletters, stories, and events. Click here to access the Resource Center which provide a variety of materials to help educate teams about Social Purpose and share important information about our FirstService Relief Fund.

Diversity & Inclusion

Our people are our greatest asset. We strive to foster a strong culture that embraces diversity and inclusion, attracts those who share our values and offers opportunities for growth. A common thread throughout our organization is our team members’ capacity for caring. Caring for one another, caring for our community members, and caring about important social issues that impact marginalized members of our communities. Each and every FirstService company is aligned in our belief that our differences make us better. We honor, respect and celebrate the different backgrounds and perspectives our diverse teams bring to their roles. We are committed to promoting and practicing equality and we condemn racism and discrimination of any kind. Our intent is to ensure diversity and inclusion remains a high-level priority throughout our organization. Our leadership teams are committed to building and supporting a workforce that is reflective of the communities in which we operate.

People Council

The People Council was formed in 2020 under the leadership of Chief People Officer, Lupe Mujica and is comprised of 15 diverse FirstService Residential associates from across the organization. The sole purpose is to ensure that all of our programs, initiatives and current practices are re-enforcing our very purposeful mission to ensure that there is career opportunity and collaboration across the organization that values diversity and is inclusive of all perspectives.
Some of the work the People Council has already done which includes feedback from over 400 associates, includes:
  • A review and revision of our language in our Vision and Mission
  • A review and rewrite of our values to align with diversity and inclusion
  • A review and rewrite of our Global Service Standards, including a rank of what is most important of which diversity and inclusion moved to the top
Further, the People Council is charged with recognizing diverse talent within our organization and ensuring a clear career path for all associates

FirstService Relief Fund

We established the FirstService Relief Fund to help employees and employees of franchises who are facing financial hardship immediately after a natural disaster or an unforeseen personal hardship. The FirstService Relief Fund relies primarily on individual donations along with support from FirstService Corporation. All administrative costs of maintaining the Fund are paid for by FirstService Corporation and 100% of individual donations are directed to those who qualify for a grant. Every contribution helps, and no amount is too small. Our people have shown a great desire to #FirstServeOthers within their FirstService family and have donated generously to the Relief Fund. The more money we collect, the more people we are able to help.
How can you help?
We offer several ways to make one-time or recurring donations to the Fund, including online donations, payroll deductions and, in the U.S., text-to-give. To donate via text, simply text keyword FSVRF to 50155 to make a donation in any amount.
The Emergency Assistance Foundation is here to help applicants through their challenging times. Please click the link to the right for social service suggestions, educational courses that cover everything from disaster preparedness to financial education and morе.
